Wrapped in Plastic's first full-length album showcases their eclectic influences of indie rockers like Tortoise and Karate, jazz luminaries such as Louis Armstrong, Woody Shaw, Chuck Mangione, and Django Reinhardt, to traditional Latin grooves and world music. "Log Jam" is a contemporary-callback, purely instrumental date, which has ten original tracks plus one lengthy bonus track, a masterful interpretation of Angelo Badalamenti's film score "Fire Walk with Me," recorded in a single take using leftover studio time. Principally tracked over two weekends in the fall of 2014, this multi-cultural quartet captured their creative essence ranging from uptempo hip-hop grooves to introspective ballads, and a swinging finale. All tunes include improvisational solos that not only display technical adeptness, but also reveal a careful and deliberate expression of uncommon vulnerability.

Wrapped in Plastic is a San Francisco-based jazz quartet formed in 2011. The name was inspired by the beloved Twin Peaks television show, and the band regularly returns to the Red Room and The One Eyed Jacks to perform this magical music.
